Columbus Tennis Club was founded by longtime friends David Kim and Adam Schrock—two guys who met on the court and never really left.

In high school, Adam was a complete beginner. He didn’t grow up playing tennis, but something about the game pulled at him. He asked David—again and again—to teach him, and David, with equal parts reluctance and curiosity, kept saying yes. Some days were filled with laughter and rhythm; others with frustration and fatigue. But they always came back to the court. And eventually, they stood side by side, teammates on their high school tennis team.

What started as simple afternoon rallies slowly became something deeper. Through those early tennis sessions, a friendship was forged—one that would stretch across years and cities, seasons and milestones. Eventually, Adam stood beside David again, this time not on a court, but as a groomsman at his wedding. A reminder that something as ordinary as picking up a racquet after school can lead to something far more lasting.

Over the years, Adam’s love for the game grew deeper. He began coaching, organizing tournaments, and became a well-known presence in the Columbus tennis community. Somewhere along the way, the roles quietly reversed—and the student became the stronger player. David wouldn’t have it any other way.

Columbus Tennis Club was built on that shared story—on what it means to grow alongside someone, to play, to connect, to show up.

We created CTC as a space for others to experience what we did: the joy of learning, the ease of showing up without pressure, and the unexpected connections that happen between serves and water breaks. Whether you’re brand new to tennis or played competitively years ago, we’ll meet you where you are.

We take care of the coaching, the match structure, and the rhythm of each session—you just bring your racquet. This is a place where strangers become friends, and a monthly meetup might turn into something far more meaningful.
